About

312 is not just about the City of Chicago, it's about my method...

3: Being mindful of the present; unpacking the past; building stability for the future. 1: Individualized care for YOU. 2: Our partnership, the 2 of us working together to build a strong, therapeutic relationship that fits your needs. As a clinical psychologist, I am passionate about understanding the root causes of anxiety, depression, or other problematic behaviors to help maintain long-term stability after therapy. I value building a strong therapeutic relationship in order to build trust and help improve my client's relationships outside of therapy. I aim to create an environment that is safe, healing, and fosters growth. I've been told that my down-to-earth personality often allows my clients to feel comfortable sharing their difficulties without fear of judgment or criticism. I enjoy working with individuals in transitional stages of their lives and/or struggling with work/life balance. I have extensive experience working with ethnic minorities, anxiety and mood disorders, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Education and Training Dr. Ali earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She then completed her adult clinical internship at Henry Ford Health System and post-doctoral training through The Family Institute at Northwestern University and Rush NeuroBehavioral Center. In addition to her advanced clinical training, Dr. Ali spent some time in Juneau, Alaska working closely with the State of Alaska and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) on the primary prevention of suicide, substance abuse, and interpersonal violence among Native Alaskans and Alaskan adolescents. What my clients say... "Alicia is compassionate, empathetic, and really cares about her clients. Working with her makes me feel supported and safe, and I leave every session feeling lighter and calmer than before. She’s the best!" "I’ve been a client of Dr. Ali’s for 2 years. She’s patient, kind, and will hold you accountable. I enjoy our virtual sessions and would recommend her to women of color and the LGBTQ+ community." "Dr. Alicia Ali is a brilliant and wonderful doctor! I've tried other therapists and stated my needs and the ways in which I would like to be supported. For example, I need help seeing my situations from a different angle so I can better understand them and my reactions. I explained this need to Dr. Ali and she was able to consistently provide that. Also she guided me in the process of taking on medication to support my therapy. She's clear, supportive, and great with communicating with me." "It’s always a challenge moving to a new place and trying to find a great therapist, but I was so fortunate to find her. She has been so helpful in helping me deal with some traumatic circumstances and has such great insight to offer. Thank you Dr. Ali for being so wonderful." "I have been working with Dr. Ali for a few years now and recommend her highly to anyone starting their mental health journey! I began working with her when I wanted to stop taking a daily anxiety medication before I got pregnant with my son. I am so happy I worked with her throughout my pregnancy and we unpacked a lot of childhood trauma and prepared for things I wanted to do differently as a parent. I greatly benefited from already having her support as I navigated postpartum depression after having my son as well. Dr. Ali has helped me through so many stages and phases of life and her lessons have been invaluable!"
